“Supporting the empowerment, healing and wellness of others is my joie de vivre”

My professional approach

My approach to coaching and counseling is a personal one, offering a respectful, confidential and safe space for you to be able to explore your needs and goals. Individual sessions can help you in various ways: gain insight into yourself and your relationships, reduce stress, anxiety and depression; feel less overwhelmed or isolated; make changes in your life (or begin to accept things that cannot change); to work towards personal goals; to feel more hopeful or find more meaning.

My priority is to create a warm, engaging and non-judgmental environment so you feel safe exploring your concerns. I believe in a strengths-based and collaborative approach to counseling that explores practical solutions towards change.

Whether you seek support for anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, trauma or personal growth, I am here to walk this journey with you. Together, we’ll craft a personalized care plan that resonates with your heart and needs.

During our sessions together, I will draw strength-based, recovery-centered, trauma-informed and client-centered approaches. I will also tailor and incorporate a number of therapeutic modalities and tools (e.g., motivational interviewing, internal family systems, inner child/shadow work, meditation/mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, neuro-linguistic programming and breathwork), depending on your needs.

In addition to trauma-training that I have completed at McGill University, the Canadian Trauma-Informed Practice Institute, Imagine Institute, and Mental Health Commission of Canada, my professional training includes a BA in Psychology (specializations: neuropsychology, developmental psychology and child psychology), a Masters of Applied Science in Nursing, and a certification in Holistic Nurse Coaching and Consultancy. I am also a certified Breathwork Facilitator and offer one-to-one and group breathwork sessions in addition to incorporating breathwork in my coaching and therapy offerings to clients.

I work with adults who are challenged by depression, stress, anxiety, and/or trauma. I am particularly experienced in working with those who are struggling with relationships, poor self-confidence/self-esteem, addiction/substance use recovery, burnout, loss and/or grief, or adjusting to major life transitions (e.g., divorce, career, parenthood, retirement).

Having a background in perinatal nursing, reproductive health as well as lactation and neonatal care, I also offer perinatal counselling, a specialised field within the realm of mental health that supports those who are navigating the various challenges that often accompany the journey to parenthood. This encompasses emotional, psychological and health education support along with coping strategies during the perinatal period, which includes the fertility/infertility journey, pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum phase.

Being a nurse all these years also makes me uniquely positioned to help support others who work in healthcare. So many of my clients are nurses or other health care professionals who are struggling with work-life integration, trauma or stress.

My approach is collaborative, nurturing, non-judgmental and is rooted in compassion and empathy, using a holistic nursing lens. I strongly believe that when a client feels seen and heard, there is enormous potential for change.

My promise to you…

Whether you are seeking support for anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or personal growth, I am committed to helping you navigate life’s challenges. My trauma-informed, evidence-based, holistic nursing approach blends the art and science of therapy and healing. Take the first step towards a happier, healthier you. More About Me

Outside of coaching, counseling and running retreats, I am a fan of music and literature, and also a keen cook who enjoys feeding my family and community with wholesome, nutritious food.

I live in the Ottawa region and thank my lucky stars that I can work and play in my own backyard every day. As a mother of three, I love yoga, meditation, long hikes, trail runs and cross-country skiing. My partner and three beautiful kids inspire me and remind me how to live in the present every day. I am a believer of miracles (large and small); of the impossible being possible; of the power of hope, curiosity and our connection with each other and nature. For me, every birth, every bloom, every season, every life transitioned and transformed is a breathtaking miracle!
